Led by Dr. Michael McGlue and Dr. Ed Woolery, a team of students were able to get hands-on field experience collecting mud cores and seismic data from June Lake.

Studying Glacial Lacustrine Processes

A graduate level Applied Geophysics class from the University of Kentucky spent a week at June Lake (near Mammoth Lakes and the Inyo National Forest) in Fall '16 collecting Chirp seismic data, short cores, long cores, and Ponar lake surface sediment samples. This data will be used for a basin analysis and interpreting glacial lacustrine processes.
